Public Finance is a discipline that examines the governments’ economic activities to meet society's common needs. The main subjects of Public Finance are the public expenditures made by the state to meet the common needs and the public revenues that finance these expenditures. The Department of Public Finance is a well-established department with one of the most comprehensive curricula in our country and its academic foundations date back to 1944 in Turkey.
Our department aims to prepare students for a complex and competitive business environment and to train individuals who will develop necessary solutions to fiscal problems in the public and private sectors by using scientific methods. Our program operates to meet the need for a knowledgeable and high-skilled workforce in fiscal and financial expertise not just for the public sector but for the private sector too. Our department strives to provide an education that integrates theoretical and practical knowledge by trying to adapt to the requirements of the world’s developments in the field of public economics and finance.
